Description
The LC furniture series shares the same architectural principles as Le Corbusier's concepts from the 1920s: mass production, mechanical aesthetics, functional adaptation, exposed structure, and pure geometric forms. Drawing inspiration from office swivel chairs, Charlotte Perriand softened the rigidity of the tubular chrome frame and placed a padded cushion on a spiral spring. Due to the significant manual labor required for both the frame and the cushion, the chairs are relatively expensive and produced in limited quantities.
